This contemporary extension to an ancient barn featured an enormous 6m wide x 4.3m tall glazed gable window to take advantage of the beautiful views across the wooded valley from the new master bedroom. Whilst this design certainly had the wow factor, it did of course threaten some very early mornings for the clients, so it was crucial to include a set of darkening blinds. Luckily we were involved early enough in the project that we could work with the architect to incorporate Blindspace recess boxes within a dropped bulkhead to completely conceal the blinds when they are not in use. This maximises the view and the clean sightlines of the window, whilst offering a good night’s sleep at the touch of the button with our Duette blinds unfolding to give excellent coverage (even being cut around the skirting boards for the most tailored finish).
