Gable Window Blinds

Gable windows are our speciality; we can offer an unparalleled range of options to suit every requirement, whether it be darkness, privacy, discreetness, insulation, or glare reduction. We use specialist machinery and labour-intensive hand manufacturing to ensure a perfect finish.

Our most popular product is ‘top-down’ Duette pleated blinds, which drop down from the angled side of the window, fanning out and then dropping horizontally if the window requires. These are especially suited to shallow-pitched gables and windows where the most invisible solution is required. These gable blinds are difficult to make well, but do clear the glass entirely with no visible cords, tracks, or wires. The blinds can even be concealed in a recess to completely disappear when not in use.

For more steeply-pitched windows, or windows with flat tops, ‘bottom-up’ Duette pleated blinds can be used. These have the benefit of providing privacy when partly retracted, especially for windows on upper floors. The blinds require slim support cables running up the glass, but are ideal if manual operation is required and one can reach the top of the window.

Roller blinds can be used on gable windows, although these are only suitable when the window is symmetrical and relatively small. For larger windows, they are still an option, but the more heavy-duty mechanism is best concealed within the building structure.

Where value for money is required, shaped aluminium Venetian blinds are a great option; these also offer greater flexibility of control, allowing the slats to be tilted to varying degrees to give privacy through to light-dimming - perfect for bathrooms or home offices in particular.

For those who prefer a bold modern look; vertical blinds can be mounted on angled headrails with differing lengths of vanes to fit to the shape of the glazing. We have also provided a range of other options for gable windows in the past, including Pinoleum woven wood blinds, so do get in touch to discuss your project in more detail.
